Five Generations of Farmers Strong
The McCrum family represents five generations of potato farmers who began in the northern Maine town of Mars Hill. As dedicated stewards of the land, the McCrum family takes great pride in their longtime commitment to integrity, sustainability, and the highest quality standards.
From its beginnings in 1886, through two world wars and into the 21st century, the McCrum family potato farm sustained both an expanding agricultural business and generations of Maine potato farmers.
The new millennium brings with it continuous innovation - from improved crop quality to advanced farming methods, from operational efficiencies to new acquisitions - which are integrated into the McCrum enterprise.
A Vertically Integrated Company
Today, the McCrum family enterprise spans the entire state of Maine-specializing in every aspect of potatoes. This vertical integration allows the McCrum family to monitor quality from field to table, ensuring that the highest standards are met every step along the way.
Penobscot McCrum was formed in 2004 when the McCrum family purchased the assets of Penobscot Frozen Foods, breathing new life into an established processing business. This marriage of two Maine companies created one of North America's largest suppliers of superior, value-added potato specialty products. With the expansion of operations in Aroostook County in 2019, we now simply go by McCrum.
