Six Generations Strong
The McCrum family represents six generations of potato farmers who began in the Northern Maine town of Mars Hill. As dedicated stewards of the land, the McCrum family takes great pride in their long standing commitment to integrity, sustainability, and the highest quality standards.
Since it's founding in 1886, the McCrum family photo farm has sustained both an expanding agricultural business and generations of Maine potato farmers.
The new millennium is fueled by continuous innovation - from enhanced crop quality through advanced farming techniques to cutting-edge operational efficiencies. This is the McCrum way.
A Fully Integrated Potato Company
The McCrum Family business operates across the entire state of Maine, specializing in every state of the potato production. Our vertical integration ensures strict quality control from field to table, maintaining the highest standards at every step.
In 2004, the McCrum family revitalized an established processing business by acquiring the assets of Penobscot Frozen Foods, forming Penobscot McCrum. This merger united two Maine-based companies creating on of North America's leading suppliers of premium, value-added potato specialty products.
Our growth continued in 2019 with the expansion into Aroostook County, and in 2020, we further strengthened our operation by opening a state-of-the-art frozen French fry facility in Washburn, ME. This addition has allowed us to expand our product offerings and better serve our customers with high-quality, Maine-grown potato products.
